People disappoint me, at least half of the time. I spot someone with a little sparkle in his eyes and I instantly expect him to know better. Most of the time, it ends with a disastrous. But I keep coming back for more, because I just can’t give up to the fact that people are really that dumb. I’ve only met a few of those worthy of mentioning.
Like that outgoing friend with the adventurous persona and daring attitude of his. I secretly envy him. I’m always over-calculating the risk till the chance is over. He reminds me of Chris McCandless of “into the wild”. You can find him head banging in an outrageously rich nightclub, or sipping tea from a cracked glass with a Bedouin, Riding a motorcycle or a camel.
Or the other one whose eyes yearn for art, Like a Samaka dies whenever grabbed from the pond of beauty. He despises tasteless art and never hesitates to declare it to your face. He can create the kind of deconstructed artwork that leaves you both astonished and revolted.
Or a third one who’s the most successful of three. He’s in the center of the circle whenever he’s around. Secretly insecure, but it never shows. He knows how to hide his low self-esteem behind a thick wall of laughter. With his superior presentation skills he captivates the minds of listeners. He’s moderately adventurous but never holds back.
Here goes three of the people I envy most. But I’m sure they have a reason to envy me back. That’s how life is always like; no one's got it all…
