From the beginning of the never-ending events in Egypt since the 25th of January that left us all out of breath. I’ve decided not take sides, because I do not understand politics. I’ve always said that politics is too complicated for a simple mind like mine.
I had an increasing respect to the protestors in Tahrir who were persistent on taking full grab of their long-lost right. On the other hand a decreasing respect to a dying regime that was thrown off balance by the protests that exploded all over the country.
Even at the same house, people were divided into either pro or against Mubarak. No one could deny that the 3 decades of Mubarak had their accomplishments. No one could deny that corruption through all fields has reached unprecedented rates either.
Some people were mostly afraid of change as an abstract concept. You’d listen to statement like:
-“Who else would you choose if Mubarak disappeared.”
-“Someone worse than Mubarak might come along.”
- “ At least He didn’t get us into an uncalculated war.”
To conclude: those claim Egypt to be a ship that can’t have a captain other than Mubarak. Those subconsciously believe that the Egyptians are incapable of taking the lead. To those I say: the Era of pharaohs has ended the moment Mubarak resigned.
To those I say:
ان كنتم تؤيدون مبارك فان مباركا قد رحل. اما وان كنتم تؤيدوا مصرا فانها باقية لا تزول.
